Our ceramic Chess Set is a real tour de force, and one of our most imaginative. Any lover of chess will delight in using this spectacular handcrafted set. The 32 playing pieces are handcrafted and hand-painted using our most elaborate clay-forming production processes. Their generous dimensions and substantial feel provide a tactile experience to one of the world’s most popular games. The pieces stow safely in the flocked compartment inside of the base of the game board, lined with our MacKenzie Highland 100% wool tartan. The board cabinet features a black and white horsehide playing surface, faux marbling, 23-carat gold leaf with floral decals, and hand-painted trims, with antiqued nailhead details.

Materials: Red cedar and hardwood game board with cowhide-hair playing surface, hand-painted trims with antique-style nailhead details, and 23-carat gold leaf with floral decals. Base is imported and lined with MacKenzie Highland wool tartan. Ceramic playing pieces are individually handcrafted and hand decorated in Aurora; game board is also hand-painted in Aurora.
