Sometimes it takes the most pared-down form to highlight beautiful design, and the simplicity of our majolica Hitchcock Field Flat Dinner Plate does just that, placing the accent on the hand-painted pattern. This Taylor pattern pays tribute to the vibrant colors of summer on the farm: sunburst chevrons of raspberry, mint, and buttercup; petite raspberry-colored blooms and vines; and a latticework center that recalls a summer field neatly planted with corn. Each piece is accented with bold black and white squares and a band of plum. For years and years, Charlie Hitchcock and his trusty horse plowed and farmed MacKenzie-Childs’ meadows and fields. Today, Hitchcock Field is filled with wildflowers, Highland cattle, and sunshine. Lively yet relaxed, Hitchcock Field is the perfect design to celebrate the fruits of your own labor after a long, rewarding day in the garden.
