Discover MacKenzie-Childs: Extraordinary Designs From An Extraordinary place

MacKenzie-Childs was born of our love of home and our commitment to fresh, innovative design. For more than 25 years, our talented designers and artisans have created beautiful, original products that add joy and grace to homes great and small throughout the world. Colorful, hand-made ceramics, enamelware, glassware, furniture, and home accessories define our collection.

Handcrafted MacKenzie-Childs products can be purchased from our company retail stores in New York City, Palm Beach, and Aurora; through distinctive fine retailers in the U.S.; and through the MacKenzie-Childs website and direct-to-consumer catalog.

Our Very Unique Headquarters

On a tranquil Victorian farm overlooking Cayuga Lake, in the heart of New York’s Finger Lakes region, we produce world-renowned majolica tableware and home furnishings. Just one mile north of the charming, historic village of Aurora, MacKenzie-Childs is a world away from the day-to-day. As you approach on the winding brick driveway, you’ll see that this is a very special place. The grounds—open to the public—house our production studio, a visitor center, a Victorian farmhouse, open for tours, and a retail shop filled with MacKenzie-Childs tableware, home furnishings, and gifts from around the world.

Soon after acquiring the farm, MacKenzie-Childs turned the dairy barn into a working production studio where, today, talented artisans handcraft our wares. The studio includes design, clay molding, firing, painting, and furniture decorating areas, and employs over 100 artisans and production personnel.

The Visitor Center at MacKenzie-Childs, open daily, offers a behind-the-scenes Studio Tour on video, live demonstrations by our artisans, and a miniature mansion, the Petit Palais.

The three-story farmhouse, built in the 1890’s, was first the homestead for a prosperous dairy farm. For years after MacKenzie-Childs purchased the farm, it served as the company’s reception area and showroom. In 2003, the farmhouse underwent a top-to-bottom, multimillion-dollar restoration; the working spaces were removed, and the living spaces restored, blending MacKenzie-Childs home furnishings with a variety of interior styles. Each of the 15 rooms is treated with signature decorative finishes and tile work, and appointed with fine art, antiques, and handmade folk treasures from a lifetime of collecting. Tours are offered daily.

The picturesque farm is also home to a herd of Scottish Highland cattle, birds roosting in the Gothic Revival-style Chicken Palace, a duck pond, an antique horse barn, a 1930’s greenhouse, spectacular and ever-changing gardens, and lovely rolling pastures.
