Rebecca's Style Notebook: Decorating with Tassels

For some time now, we’ve had a love for beautiful tassels at MacKenzie-Childs. It seems every season we’re adding more colors and styles to our ever-evolving collection of these decorative treats. We're drawn to their shape, their textures, the combinations of colors and materials, the playful sense of motion, and the purely happy sensation you get from handling them. You can use the tinier ones for a sweet little bookmark, while the largest tassels can mark a point of reference in even the most spectacular room.

Tassels have been used throughout history and in most cultures. In our interpretation, we love to combine our patterned ceramic components, beads, lustrous fibers, and lots of color in multiple shapes and sizes. Tassels are a form of passementerie; the antique art of making elaborate trimmings for clothing or furnishings.

There are so many ways you can use them. Here are a few of our favorites.
